Courses are available to anyone living or working in Pender, New Hanover, Brunswick, Bladen, or Columbus counties.

Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training that teaches participants to recognize and assist during a mental health challenge or crisis.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants are eligible to become a certified Mental Health First Aider, which is valid for 3 years.

There are two courses available.

§ Adult Mental Health First Aid is focused on training adults who work with adults.

§ Youth Mental Health First Aid is focused on training adults who work with youth.

The grant allows us to provide ONE training per individual at no cost. Register HERE.

If you or someone you know is interested at some point in attending both adult and youth trainings, the cost for the second training would be at the participants expense and costs $25.70.

Coastal Horizons has two upcoming VIRTUAL trainings open to the community.

One on August 22nd (Adult) 9am – 5pm and August 30th (Youth) 9am-4pm

Both trainings are virtual.

MHFA courses are taught in a blended format which includes 2 hours of online self-paced pre-work and instructor led training.
